Dear Parish family,
We learned this week that the Bishop is again directing our churches to suspend in-person gatherings and services, starting November 29 through the month of December (at least). The Covid virus infection rates are going up again across the state, even in Chenango County. I am very disappointed that we will have to return to on-line alternatives.
So here are the plans so far, subject to change of course.
-- We will meet together one more time in church on November 22, where we will celebrate Thanksgiving together.
-- There will be no service on November 29. It was a scheduled day off for me, and we will not be able to meet for Morning Prayer.
-- Prerecorded services will resume on December 6 with availability on our website or YouTube.
-- We will have some kind of Christmas Eve service. Right now I am leaning toward a carol sing on the village green, with masks and 15 ft. spacing, but we will need to see if that is allowed.
-- We will continue our Zoom study group on the Doctrine of Discovery on December 3. Let me know if you are interested so I can send an invitation.
I will miss being able to celebrate Christmas with you in a more intimate way. I hope this will last only for a short time. In the meantime wearing masks, social distancing, and washing hands will help stop the spread. If we all do this, perhaps this step back can be very short.
Thanks for understanding. Please call or email with any questions or suggestions.
Blessings
